Community Involvement
- Theresa has been a Director on Destination Greater Victoria's Board of Directors since 2020, a role she cherishes
- Having taught at Royal Roads University for some years, Theresa now volunteers to speak to the students about how to successfully transition into the hospitality workforce
- To prepare students for careers in hospitality, Theresa volunteers her time to speak to students at Camosun College
- Theresa has volunteered for years at Our WorkPlace assisting those affected by homelessness or addiction to break through their barriers and get back into the workplace
- Theresa volunteers performing mock interviews for students each year at University of Victoria’s School of Business to prepare them for the working world
- Inspired Victoria has hosted Theresa several times as a guest speaker, sharing anecdotes and best practices from her life
to inspire others - Theresa has been volunteering at Our Place, Homeless Shelter since moving to Canada in 2008. Serving lunches with Fairmont Empress, Swans Hotel, and the Hotel Association of Greater Victoria
- Bread & Butter Collective is a peer-driven collective aimed at providing resources and tools to hospitality-based business owners in B.C. that Theresa proudly supports as a member
- Theresa is a member of WORTH Association, a society in B.C. dedicated to advancing women in the recreation, tourism, and hospitality industries
- Theresa is a proud member of Vix Chix, an informal, unpretentious, fun group of phenomenal female leaders who gather to share ideas, speak confidentially, and build relationships over wine at new venues around Victoria
